I have most probably the same problem (I'm sorry I do not have the logs here so I cannot post them). I have noticed that in my situation when I press the "green window" button, which is switching Home screens, two or three times the Mediaportal screen is displayed properly.

You can get rid of the problem by pressing"alt enter" twice to switch to window mode an then back to fullscreen again aswell, but this is no solution.

The real problem for me is, that after resuming from standby/hibernate the logfiles grow and grow and even worse Powerscheduler doesn´t hibernate my system while the error is written to the logs all the time.
So if my computer resumes to record a show this show is recorderded but my PC then doesn´t go to sleep anymore - that´s why my bills for electrical energy grow faster than the logfiles...lol

I just saw that there are news within the latest svn:
"23/11/2006 [22:06h] _Frodo_ added: make the use of a seperate thread for rendering the GUI optional to find out whats causing the hangups"
maybe this helps us.....I´m gonna try and report asap.

all having this problem: you can "go back" to the 0.2.1 behaviour if you de-select "use separate render thread.." in general options.

Please report back if that fixes the problem for all of you.

Not here, checked option did obviously work when going to s3 manually. if powersave does it, wakeup results in black screen.
even the workaround ctrl-enter twice doesn´t help. reset (!) is the only option...

hmm, but, as i remember, the problems regarding the suspending seem to me happinening since araound the mentioned svn...
and the major problem is the channel/webepg configuration which held me from deinstalling and installing plain 210 release ;-(
another thing, but not in scope of this thread is the audio/video delay problems i´ve got since some svn´s.....
cheers..

Default SOLVED - at least for me

Ok, guys,

"here are the votes":

Test plan:
Installed SVN : MediaPortal.svn / 11.25.2006 / 01.01.Rev11904

- Conf: "Thread GUI ... " DISabled. Start MP, no action, let MP directly hibernate via Powerscheduler, restart with remote -> GUI screen perfect, NO ERROR log at all

- Conf: "Thread GUI ... " ENabled : same procedure as above: GUI screen perfect, this error log:

2006-11-25 16:26:52.746105 [ERROR][MPMain]: FreeResources exceptionystem.InvalidOperationException: Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute.
at System.Collections.ArrayList.ArrayListEnumeratorSi mple.MoveNext()
at MediaPortal.GUI.Library.GUIWindow.FreeResources()

But no 3DDEVICELLOST.

BTW, does this config switch "Thread GUI" have any implications to the performance resp. CPU usage ?

Thanks to the devs, WAF is dramatically increasing again !

Best regards
/Gerd
