Eureka! I think I am gonna go with a XPSP2 install now, cross your fingers. Vista is quite the resource hog on lowend systems. Please, keep testing. I will report back with my findings.

Make an image. So you can easily go back to Vista if everything fails.

I doubt that will work with my RAID configuration, but I will read up on it before I go ahead.

I use Acronis.. They seem to have raid support. Never tried it though. -LINK-

Running a SP2 now for 18 hours without bsoding, using the old stream.sys version - looking good.
