CPU usage is about 90% when MP is trying to read a file (here *.tbn) for which it has no access. See screenie:
Attachment 567

Did the following:
Started MP > goto Movies/Videos > played a movie1.avi in folder which has also a tbn-file movie1.tbn without any owner/access rights.

hi chris

(i think) because the files were created with a user/profile which not exists anymore, due to reinstalling windows. To get access to folder again i removed the owner and add "Jeder" to the folder, but some files did not get this, so it's empty.

ALL i want to say is just i do not know it exactly. I added now the rights again, but i felt to tell it you. If this should be fixed or marked as no bug is not my decision.

regards

Have you tried to play the file in WMP or any other player?

I think that files without any access settings may be not playable with any player.
and if i remmeber correctly you wont even be able to move them. but i am not 100% sure about that.

i think that this is a generall "issue" of windows.

and reports are always welcome

The prob was not to play the video file (movie.avi, which has access rights). In the same folder exist a movie.tbn which has NO access rights. MP should ignore it and not try to display it (like Windows Bild & fax anzeige), but MP tried it a few times per second to access the file and display the thumbnail, i think that is the prob.

[EDIT] Tried again to give full access rights to a other user than me. Then the thumbnail is ignored. But it should still show the generel movie-thumb, shouldn't it?
see here:
Attachment 570

Note: For the movie my user account has full access. For the tbn-file only another user account (picture & edit text) or no user account (first post and first part of this post) has access.
