Default Very high Explorer.exe CPU during TV mode

Hi guys,

When I'm in the basic TV screen, explorer.exe jumps from essentially no activity to 15% CPU. When I go to full screen it goes to approximately 60% CPU. It hovers around zero while in other MP screens and while the computer is idle. The small TV window is watchable, however the large one is not. This is most likely especially noticeable to me because I have a very underpowered machine. Thanks for any help. Logs are attached.

1.3 GHz P4. The release version of MP works well (in my memory), and I don't have a problem full screen with GBPVR. I have rebooted several times and made sure nothing else was running that would interfere.

I think your values are not very unusual with such a low configuration.
At least 1.4 GHz is recommended: http://www.team-mediaportal.com/requirements.html

Time for an upgrade

Hi mpod,

I know I'm underpowered, and as a result I don't do anything fancy except watch TV. However, this worked just fine on the stable version of MP, and explorer.exe doesn't do this at anytime except when MP is running with the TV on (and at full screen). This would seem to indicate that its a bug somewhere in MP. Hopefully a fixable one.

Is it possible to post a screen image of your Task Manager while MP is running showing the Explorer.exe utilising excessive %.

This would reinforce the bug as I haven't seen this issue and can't see why MP should affect Explorer.exe specificaly.

Could a firewall be blocking some acceess that MP was trying to get at ?

Another option is to cut explorer out of the equation altogether and run MP as shell. There's a guide somewhere on the forums for it...
