Default MP Setup contains hard-coded directory?

Topic Title: MP Setup: entering setup creates directory "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\My Playlists" when not specified anywhere within MP configuration

Area: Media Portal Setup Program
Windows Version: XP Professional with SP2 and all updates, .Net 1.1
CPU Type: AMD Athlon 64 2800+
Memory: 1024MB DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Motherboard Chipset: VIA K8M800
Video Card: GIGABYTE GV-N52128DS
Video Card Driver: NVIDIA 77.72 (6/15/2005)
Video Render Type: VMR9 - Renderless
Video Codec Type & Version: Mpeg2Dec Filter (YUV, Blend)
Audio Codec Type & Version: MPEG/AC3/DTS/LPCM Audio Decoder
TV Card: Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 500 MCE
TV Card Type: Hardware
TV Card Driver: Hauppauge 2.0.30.23074 (3/15/2005)
Satelite/CableTV Provider: Cable - Comcast

error description:
1. delete directory "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\My Playlists"
2. start mediaportal setup
3. click cancel
4. My Playlists folder created in My Documents
5. no indication of folder creation in MediaPortal.log

It's difficult to narrow it down, but based on the folder's creation timestamp, it happens sometime during the "Load settings".

Not a big deal, but just wanted to bring this to someone's attention.

Regards,
Aaron

Default

This is configurable in Mediaportal Setup

goto setup > then click on music > set in playlist settings.

it does create the folder when first installed, as many other programs do, however set a different directory and delete the default directory and everything should remain as you set it!

thats the theory

i think it works in the same way as the databases, if the db dissapears, then it is recreated on startup of setup, so likewise if a folder that is supposedly configured is not there..... setup creates it.

Like I said above though, nowhere in MP setup is the path "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\My Playlists" specified. Even MediaPortal.xml, which appears to contain the directory paths, doesn't reference the "My Documents\My Playlists" path. Here's a screenshot of my current MyMusic setup screen:

Unfortunately, this isn't the case, at least for me! Can you give it a try?

1. start mediaportal setup, change Music Playlist folder to something else
2. click OK
3. delete directory "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\My Playlists"
4. start mediaportal setup
5. click cancel
6. My Playlists folder created in My Documents

Aaron

My System

Default

The default My Playlists folder is now created only when necessary, i.e. no playlist folders are specified and the folder doesn't already exist. Fix is in the current CVS build.
