| Portal Member | I load Media Portal, select My Music and put it in Party Shuffle mode. Sound pretty simple, but once it starts playing, the system starts to lag worse than a dead body being dragged through wet cement. My PIII 800 just can't keep up. ![]() When idle, MP puts about a 5% load on my CPU. When playing, this goes as high as 80-90% and averages around 60%. Since the key feature I was looking for in MP 0.2.0 isn't there yet (Recording off the radio), I'm going to have to go back to 0.1.3 in the short term. BTW, is there any chance of having two versions of the software installed on the same machine? I would love to be able to help out with the testing of MP 0.2.0, but it looks like I have to uninstall it before heading back to 0.1.3. edit: Here's a more "official" version Area: Media Portal Program Windows Version: Windows MCE 2005 with all Windows Updates as of 04/09/05 CPU Type: Pentium III 800 Memory: 512meg Motherboard Chipset: Intel Video Render Type: Overlay Audio Codec Type & Version: Direct Show ?? Description: Media Portal -> My Music -> Playlist -> Party Shuffle mode. High CPU Load results in slow response time from system There were NO events recorded that related to this problem. |
