Exclusive DirectX Video Mode crashes on Fullscreen

Whenever I attempt to fullscreen video when "exlusive directx video mode" is on the screen freezes and no more video is displayed. The sound keeps playing though.

My error log (in the testing files attached) has lots of directx3d errors, the first of which is...

I updated to the latest DirectX but no change. Switching off exclusive directx does fix this problem but then I get nasty vertical tearing the whole time.

Can anyone help with a further line of investigation? TIA

Further testing leads me to believe that this problem is something to do with my Hauppage remote control or with textures.

If I enter MyTV by selecting it from the main menu the fullscreen works fine. My Mediaportal log shows:

Also possibly relevant is as Mediaportal switches to MyTV a white message on a black screen flashes by which I *think* says something about skin textures.

Has anyone else got this problem?

AFAIK this is fixed in current CVS, but still: if video is playing and you switch mediaportal from windowed mode to fullscreen (i.e. ALT-ENTER) the playback is stopped. IMHO it's better to switch between windowed and fullscreen while there isn't and tv/dvd/movie playing.
