My TV - DVB-T channel changes are very slow and hiccup...

Changing TV stations (using the My TV page Channel Menu) is very slow (typically 4 seconds) followed by "hiccups" in the sound and video at about 10 seconds later. It used to be less than 2 seconds, with no hiccups in the video and audio.

Here's a section of my MediaPortal.log file that illustrates the time delays - the first line (violet) is the command to change channels. The red line (4 seconds later) is when the video appeared and the two blue lines are when the "hiccup" occurred (at 10 seconds).

I have "Grab DVB EPG" unselected, so I am not sure why this line "DVBGraph: grab epg for Seven" appears?

Same problem here, only channel changes seem to be even slower for me (approx. 10-15 seconds) and I only have a very minor, barely noticable, hiccup afterwards (which I've had in previous versions of MP).

Was this one fixed yet? There are a few changelog updates regarding fixed on slow channel changes.

So if the people who reported problems can verify with the latest CVS, please let us know.

Channel changes with the latest CVS (03-30-2006--01-04) are still very slow for me (much slower than they used to be about a month ago) - here's a section of my MediaPortal.log file, to illustrate what I am referring to:-

The first line is where I issue the command to change channels.

The last line (8 seconds later) is when the channel change has completed, and the sound and video have settled.

The biggest delay seems to be at the line I have highlighted in red - 4 seconds spent "wait for pmt :-1". This also seems to be the time when the "hiccup" in the sound and video occurs.

check the PMT pid on some of your channels inside configurator.exe, are they all set to -1? Use TSReader Lite otherwise to see if that one can find a PMT pid value and then adjust it yourself for a few channels, zap between those and see if it fixes it.

The PMT PID is the highlighted part on this screenshot: http://rochess.net/mediaportal/Scree...TSReader_1.jpg , be aware that the values inside TSReader are in HEX and that MP expects them in Decimal, usually the PMT pid is 1 below the Video pid tho, but make sure.

If it does, then Frodo can maybe fix the auto-tune part to fill in those values.

All my DVB-T channels have the correct value for PMT (none of them are -1).

Also, I get a similar delay (10 to 12 seconds) when trying to change between DVB-T radio stations - this is the section of the MediaPortal.log file:-

I used to get almost instantaneous TV channel and radio station changes, and I don't recall ever seeing this "wait for pmt :-1" before....:confused:
