Went from a perfectly working 0.2.3.0 RC2 to this final version. Uninstalled RC2 before installing the new version, cleaned out user settings too.

Now, with the very same settings in My DVD and My Movies as before, I can't navigate DVD's anymore. The system becomes unresponsive but after a while (30 seconds or so) eventually will wake up. I've found a few threads about this problem from RC3 and on but no solutions - sorry if I just missed it.

I've also got this very same (original) DVD ripped to the hard drive. Same problem when trying to play it in My Movies - both ways worked without any quirks with RC2.

The attached log is after starting MP, inserting DVD, waiting for root menu, choosing 'set list' (list of songs in the concert. the screen now is supposed to swith to a new menu but never does - instead the background music disappears and the computer freezes). After waiting for a while, I've then ejected the disc and shut MP down.

Thanks and once again sorry if this was already solved or if I've chosen the wrong place for posting.

I had the same problem since the upgrade. For me the following worked:

You have set the DVD option to "Turn off DxVA" in Configuration->DVD->DVD Codec
Uncheck that option and you'll get H/W acceleration in DVD's also.

What happened was this, When watching liveTV Hardware acceleration turns on in your PureVideo decoder panel. But when playing DVD or a DVD form HD this is turned off. So ypur CPU has to do all the work.

Good luck trying.

I've never touched that setting (ticked by default, in both final and RC2 versions). Unticking screwed up the picture completely (no problems with the option ticked) so this unfortunately does not seem to be the problem. But thanks anyway, of course!

Tried deleting the video database but sorry, no difference.

This far, both installations have been without SVN's. I've also tried applying the latest (16582) SVN but it made no difference.

I've now reinstalled RC2 and the system works fine again. New log from the same action (start MP, insert DVD, wait for menu, choose set list, choose song/play, stop after a while, shut down MP) attached below. Needless to say, playing from the hdd now also works as supposed.
