Hello,
my english isn't perfect. but i can descripe my problem:
Before i had clean my harddisk, my TV-card und MP worked. but now, after i have delete all from my harddisk, my TV-card doesn't work. The cables from the satelite is working. before i had install some bugfixes, MP stop scanning by frequenz 11817. but after i have install Snapshots, bugfixes and the latest Hauppauge drivers: i click on scan and no... they said: scan finished. Or when i import a channel-list and start MP is black screen, no tv. and when i close MP an error comes: MP has a problem and must closed. The log-files show a problem, but i can't unterstand it... because im not a dev. When are questions, then ask, but you think: I can't good english, and that's a litte problem And in the MP.log theres a line: strength: 100 and quality: 0, why?!
Bye

i allready told you why.

simply because your drivers do not "tell" MediaPortal the correct value.

since you say that it worked before you re-installed windows, it seems that you somehow fuckup your new installation.

have you tried using the same drivers as you did befor you re-installed WinXP?
or have you just installed the latest ones?

have you tried to re-install MediaPortal ?

note:
hauppauge knows about a few major bugs in their recent driver. the Hauppaug Nova-HD-S2 (which is a ripped version of the HVR) currently is also not realy working correctly.
we are still waiting for new drivers from hauppauge.

then try the same rev. which worked before please.

if you get it working again, then MediaPortal seems do do something wrong.
But if you do not get it working again with the same build-rev. then something in your newly installed WindowsXP is broken.

Before i reinstall windows, i had MediaPortal here downloaded and don't downloaded a snapshot: also: only mediaportal 0.2.3.0 RC2 without snapshots, and only the latest hauppauge drivers. by my backups i had found a downloads directory, and had install this version, but it doesnt worked.

well if the same version which worked before the re-installation of WindowsXP does no longer work now, then something is not right with your current setup.

You can try to download the redistributeable versions of .net framework 1, .net framework 2 and directX9.
then reboot your system and run windowsupdate.

If that doesnt work then i have no clue what is broken in your system, sorry.

I made some tests with different DVB-S cards with these results, always latest driver and fresh installation ( Note TVE2):
Nova SE2 -> scanning is working fine
Floppy DVB-S -> crash at 11817v
Twinhan DVB-S -> working
KNC DVB-S Station ( older Revision) -> working
Nova HD -> crash
HVR 3000 -> working
HVR 4000 -> crash

It seems to be a driver issue. Astonishingly the Floppy is working with RC1 but refuses with latest SVN

because dvb-s2 part of NOVA-HD-S2 is till not working in TV-Server because of a driverbug.

Hi all,

I wrote in an other article in this forum that I also lost some channels with a hauppauge nova-s.
I had the same environment, but changed the TV server release. After updating the channeldb (was not compatible) I lost nearly all german channels(I think all above the mentioned frequency). After going back some releases of TV Server I got all channels back. But I´m not the only one with this problem. (sorry no time to search forthe article now ).

regards Christian

Hi,
did a fast scan for the mentioned article.
http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/no...4.html?t=26634

As it´s working with the same environment and an old release of TVServer I think it´s a small bug in the newer releases.

thanks for help and best regards Christian
