fixed Movie database update cannot find several movies on IMDB

0.2.3.0 RC2
SVN-Snapshot: 10-05-2007 01-04h - Revision:16122

It have problems with few files like:
"Wild, The(2006).avi"

it says IMDB found no match..

I tried to make it search for "the Wild" and "The Wild 2006" , no luck, while the movie is there : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405469/

----
same problem with "the Freediver (2004)" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379790/
same problem with "the warrior (2001)" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0295682/
same problem with "Italiensk for begyndere" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0243862/

Please look into it.

thanks for great work.

Hi,
Please describe what you do & if this it's in configuration or MediaPortal & attach your log after you have tried?

Ok, starting with empty log:

starting "mediaportal configuration"
selecting movies, movie database, "scan", (checking for only one share, the one with movies)
("skip files alredy is database" is checked)
I click "update database from selected shares"
...it's working...until it ends with the "IMDB movie Conflicts" window, it does not recognize, "freediver, the(2004)" , and the other movies listed before.
-there is a title textbox:
I try to change the title "freediver, The(2004)" to "the Freediver" , it still says "no IMDB info Found!"

searching for the above movie(s)on IMDB, gives results.

I close the config-window:

and attach the log.
Attached Files
File Type: log Configuration.log (46.6 KB, 7 views)

Hi,
Have done some test & it works here, i had to remove the (2004) but then it appear, have you added a search place where it should look for titles in "MP Configuration -> Movies -> Settings?

Regards
Roy

I specified IMDB only.

still - read my lips:

"The Freediver" - gives no results at all.
"Italiensk for Begyndere" - gives no results at all.
"The Warrior" - suggests 6 movies, but the right one from 2001 is not there, yet you can see it om IMDB
"The Wild" - suggests 5 movies, but none of them is the anomation movie from 2006

please try these 4 strings and pretend you actually want to find those 4 movies among the results (check title/year) , unless MPconfig does some bizzare caching that lasts for a week, then you should be able to reproduce

Hi,
Just for fun try to search for "Freedriver, Th" or "Th Freedriver", that should give you something (think i removed one letter to much when removing (2004)
Will see if i can catch dukus maybe he know whats wrong.

Roy

"The Freediver" can be found using "Th Freediver"
""Italiensk for Begyndere" found some other movie when searching for "italiensk" (but I did not see what*)
"the Warrior" - when I tried to theat with "th Warrior" , it automatically downloaded 13'th warrior" -that's logical.

*= Please consider to make the DB editor easier to use, it's hard to locate files based on wrong import, without knowing what it was imported as.

Also: all my movies are formatted with "(####)" Year , like (2004) , and some are "(1-2)", "(2-2)" , filenumber, if consists of more than one file.

It would be *very* sweet if importing from IMDB could understand the year the movie was made.

Thank you.

It works perfectly fine now.
Thank you.

Please do not forget my two suggestions I posted in this thread, what do you think about them ?
