I have found that rulesettings in the firewall are not obeyed after standby/resume under vista 32 bit. Shutting down windows firewall also didnot help a lot.
Anyway I am out for the weekend so I can't test this more.
I hope that someone else can fix it, because it's very anoying to restart the server for watching tv on the laptop in the garden (or anywhere) .

Well I found this, firewall rules are obeyed. When connecting to a tv-server wich has been in standby and woken up, I cannot get a live tv stream on my laptop. When I ,at the server, stop the tv service by hand and start it again, I have a playable stream to the laptop. (after i restarted mp on the laptop because it won't reconnect to the tv-service again).

I think it's in mantis (0001180: TVServer remote connections don't work after standby - MediaPortal Bugtracker) so eventualy it will be solved.
