I knife & forked the RC onto a completelty clean machine (fresh install) as the deply tool threw an error every time

I now cannot get the tv configurer tool to detect any tv channels - scanchannles finds them all and previous version of mediaportal had no problem. Scan results in "no signal detected"

attached is the information from the test tool

Looks like the sql db is broken , try deleting\dropping this (after making a backup of course).

GeneralRequirements - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

You did install the BDA\DVB hotfix

hi - thanks for the fast response.

I will try and delete the db (no need to save it as it must be empty)

BDA/DVB hotfix - if you mean the dvbfix.rar yes.

Byt he way things are going from bad to worse - tried reinstall the hauppauge drivers and cannot get the tv-server to start as it has problems with mysql

I deleted (well renamed) the db (mptvdbrc1) and then rebooted. TV config came up OK but there is no tv service "content" - no cards or anything. mptvdbrc1 has been recreated and appears the same as previously

i would suggest a clean reinstallation.
  1. uninstall TV-Server
  2. delete the database
  3. make sure you use the latest hauppauge drivers
  4. install latest version of TV-Server (see svn test build forums)
