SIGNAL LEVEL: 0, SIGNAL QUALITY: 100 *

Was this done using a rescan or importing a old db list of channels.

Do any channels work, might be worthwhile running filmerit just to make sure your codecs are alright.

i dont know any tv-card driver which provides proper values for level and quality, so these can be ignored.

much more interesting then the preview would the MyTV of MediaPortal be.

i am not 100% sure, but if there are no mpeg2 filters/codecs installed on this "server pc" then i guess the video playback will fail.

As above.

Doesn't setuptv preview use the MPA/MPV filters and if these aren't installed or there is a problem with either then the preview will fail or no sound /video.

If you have VLC installed on the pc then navigate to the tsbuffer folder default

C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server

and open the buffer with VLC while preview active and see what you get.

Hi
thanks for the proposal. Made some tests:

1. Preview a channel: only audio / black video window. Then play the TS-File with VLC: audio and video are both ok.

2. Start timeshift under "manual control" and play TS-File with VLC: only audio / black video window. Then (leaving timeshift on) start preview on same channel: audio and video both ok.

Seems as if the "first" view does not work.

regards Hansjörg

P.S.
Any TS-Flie with VLC and .MPG File with VLC or Mediaplayer only gives audio and no video.

The ds graph for the preview function is auto-build by direct show.
Only the TsReader is "thrown" in the graph.
The rest totally depends on merit settings for the filters.
So if you have quite a lot of filters or some are missing the result mostly depends on "good luck"

Are your .TS files very small ie no video content included. I doubt this but a very remote possibility even though I have never experienced this with MP? SD can average at 1gig and hour.

Have a good clean out of your codecs use Filmerit.

Which Catalysts do you use ? have you enabled any dual monitor modes or TheatreMode settings as these can mess up video display sometimes.
