TV-Server/Client Bugreporting guideline

Before you start reporting bugs:

• Read the requirements of MediaPortal and TV-Server.
• Search the forums for reports about the very same issue.
• Take a look at our Bugtracker to find out if the issue is allready known

Report Bugs:

Your bugreport has to include:

• hardware specification (wil be added automatically, but you have to fill out the template in the forums user controlpanel before)
• all logfiles.
  But NEVER copy paste text out of an logfile. Use the "attachement" feature of the forum.
• detailed step by step description of the issue
• Installation Type: single seat (Server client on the same PC) | Network - single TV-Server | Network - multiple TV-Servers
• One bug per thread!

TV-Server - Logs:

• If the TV-Server is installed on the same PC as MediaPortal is, then you just have to start the "MediaPortal Test Tool" from your start Menu.
  This will then export all logs as one zip file.
  
• If MediaPortal is not installed then go to your windows start menu, and click at the "TV-Server logfiles" shortcut.
  Attach all files you find there to your bugreport!

Reports without this informations will NOT be processed and mostlikely get deleted without any info!
