Hi, I did a clean install of RC3 (complete uninstall, DB dropped, deleted folders, reboot). Install was ok (Single seat, SQL Server), but when I scan DVB-T channels, no result. The scan process is very fast, and nothing is found. Looking in TVServer logs, I found some errors (System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException and others).

I tried both settings about CAM, checked and unchecked (I haven't any CAM), with the same result.

In attach there are TVServer logs; from the installation process (no errors) and from first start, DB creation and first scan.

I've reverted to RC2 in order to use TV in the weekend.

Please double check to have a hybrid setup in Tv-Server. If not do it and restart ithe server before rescanning...
Also be sure to be on WinTV CD 4.6b from Hauppauge.

I own a HVR-1300 and here the scan works like a charm.

Ciao Chemelli,
I also tried hybrid and no-hybrid setup, same result, and Hauppauge drivers are the latest (WinTV CD 4.6b).

(BTW, in RC2 I used no hybrid setup, I disable the analog tuner)

This issue sounds like the card is not initialized properly. Most times disconnecting/reconnecting the device or start/stop TVservice will do the trick.

Of course I did some tests prior to post.. I tried to uninstall/reboot/install a couple of times, modified TV server settings, stopped/started service, but still the same situation.

I too was wondering about these messages in tv.log, but in RC2 this work without problem. In the weekend I'll try to remove Pinnacle software (Pinnacle Studio 11) to give it a try...

YEAH! (cannot wait weekend to test!)
It worked. I removed Pinnacle software and now DVB-T scan works again like a charm. I don't know why it worked in RC2 without conflict, and not in RC3. Ok, code change.. It's obvious

BTW, I'm wondering about what will happens when I'll need again Pinnacle Studio 11.

Will TVServer stop again to work whenever I'll install Studio 11 ?

At a guess the pinnacle software is locking the card so outside applications cannot use it, ie TVServer\Mediaportal.

Regards

I don't think... When I reverted to RC2 the scan started without problem.. Studio 11 is there from ages. For now, however, I don't need to use it
