one way that works great and is easy is make a option that if there are x amount of folders and say 40% have icons/covers it will auto show the correct view i think xbmc does it this way and it worked great for me i believe u can change the % to what you want so 0-100. This could go further in it will detect if a folder has only folders in it then it can use view that you want. This could even be turned on by default and will give a better experience for new users which just show mp a folder and MP does the rest and does it nicely
anyways i hope Mediaportal 2 becomes more user friendly in a way that you could just install open and play just like mce or xbmc in which all users noobs and advance users can have the best media center with out to much head aches.
