I have a MCE Remote working on windows XP with media portal, the latters i press on my remote is differnt what it comes up on the screen

after JKL on the remote should be MNO but on the media portal but comes up as WXY instead of what should be MNO

and PQRS doesnt work either or TUV and WXYZ do nothing even though i have files in there with the starting letters

does anyone have anyidea how to fix, or can this be fixed in the next update?
