Exclamation Retention/Ghosting Using PDVD Codec! But No Problem Using PDVD Player? *Screenshots*

TV-Server Version: 1.0 RC1 SVN 19010
MediaPortal Version: 1.0 RC1 19010
MediaPortal Skin: Blue Wide
Windows Version: Windows XP SP2
CPU Type: Intel Core 2 Duo e6600
HDD: 1863.02 GB
Memory: 2 GB
Motherboard: Asus P5B
Video Card: ATI Radeon X1900XT
Video Card Driver: Catalyst v8.4
Sound Card: M-Audio Rev. 5.1
Sound Card AC3: Coax Out
1. TV Card: Technotrend C-1500
1. TV Card Type: DVB-C
1. TV Card Driver: 5.0
Remote: USBUIRT IR Receiver
TV - HTPC Connection: DVI

Codecs: PDVD8 video codec; AC3Filter for SPDIF audio passthrough;
Settings: PDVD Hardware Acceleration/Deinterlacing; AVIVO Vector Adaptive/Pulldown Detection

Using the PDVD7 or PDVD8 codecs (not installed together) in MP gives me the following artifacts:

a) Very bad image retention (ghosting?) in many scenes (most noticeable in cgi movies). For example, trees against a dark blue cgi sky, as soon as the camera pans up the sky, the trees are still visible (albeit more faint).

b) Poor 'shadowing' which results in 'blocky patches' between shadows on a wall for example.

I don't experience anything like this when watching the same films directly through PowerDVD. Any ideas what may be wrong from within MP?
