I have TVServer and MP client up and running (RC1 - latest svn builds), on a machine with a DVB-S card, channels are scanned, EPG is working, everything is good. TV Server is working fine and mediaportal connects to it on the same machine.

I setup the MP client on another machine, it's on a Gb network. Both machines can see each other, ping works, neither have any firewall/AV software on them and Windows Firewall is OFF on both machines.

MediaPortal video playing (myMovies) is working fine on the new client. When it was installed the "TV service" name was set to itself (the Windows machine name). When I change this to "192.168.0.2" which is the permanent IP address of my server it just hangs. No errors are shown, I have waited about 10 minutes then I stop the mediaportal.exe process.

here's the last line of the log (this was a run of mediaportal with the server address in the config xml file)

Code:
2008-05-28 14:32:10.140625 [Info.][MPMain]: Remote control:master server :192.168.0.2
2008-05-28 14:32:10.203125 [Info.][MPMain]: ChannelNavigator::Reload()
2008-05-28 14:32:10.265625 [Info.][MPMain]: get channels from database
I've checked the logs on the server machine and there's nothing obvious there when the client is trying to connect. Is there anything I have missed? Are there any server logs that might be relevant?
