I seem to remember reading somewhere (on The GBPVR forum I think) - that the PowerDVD audio codec needs to be given a serial number to check that it is being used by the actual PowerDVD app (i.e. there is some protection mechanism built in).
I've never had much success in using it outside the actaul PDVD app.
