Im another one. Ive got RC2 running nicely on my single seat HTPC and have just installed the client on my laptop and I cant get anything going. The config takes about 5 minutes to close and when I select My TV on the client I have to wait another 5 minutes to only get the tv settings screen.
What are we doing wrong ?

Solved it for me
I could see in the logs that it wasnt connecting to the SQLServer and I found this
TV-Server/Configuration/SQL-Server - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation which said my server was only allowing connections from localhost and not tcp/ip.
Made the recommended changes and restrarted the service and all done...tv on my laptop with HD tv on my HTPC
