if this utility can convert to mpg on the fly, including converting live tv, does this mean it would be possible to view this mpg stream on xmbc? and if so... does that mean it might be possible to add live tv streaming to this plugin? Very Happy

In theory it may be possible to setup streaming of shows as they record but it would not work for live tv in general or allow changing channels. My machine would most likely not be able to handle the overhead either so difficult for me to test.
I noticed another thread in the plugin development forum where someone is looking into network broadcasting which may be an alternative in the future.
