This problem come from, haail media splitter switch only audio streams and subtitle streams in MKV files, one way only convert your video file into mkv file. http://www.pcwelt.de/downloads/tools...-tools/123035/
I use vobsub with ffdshow subtitle filter to show normal srt subtitles, in ffdshow can you set button to enable /disable subtitle.

Use CCCP codec pack to install ffdshow and vobsub, install haail splitter mark avi support, and after indtall from Start menü in Windows mark in ffdshow Video configuration the subtitle filter. http://cccp-project.net/

normal avi with single srt can you enable, disable with ffdshow
