Hi there, Media Portal works fine with XP Pro and/or MCE. The MCE edition of the Hauppauge 150 and the MCE remote would work very well with Media Portal also, and again the Windows operating software does not have to be MCE. You might have to download some drivers for the MCE remote if using XP Pro, but this is straightforward and plenty of info exists out there from other folks who have done this.
