|  kroko, you'll never give up on game programming  I would love to see chess in MP and I can make some gfx for you if you want to but after I've finished the next release of SimpleMP Beta 4 skin.Two questions: * How big demand is there for a chess game plugin? (lots of work on skinning the pieces) * Is there anyone that can program a game menu so my plugins doesn't have to contain 20 entrys?

| Retired Team Member  | I personally like chess, though I rarely play. I think I wouldn´t make much use of it as I have little time (for long games) and the htpc respectively the tv is used for tv or music. If you are looking for new game ideas, how about: # checkers (Dame) - chessboard but not so many gfx needed # nine men´s morris (Mühle) # Battleships (Schiffe versenken) tomtom

Country:  | Yes, I'd love Chess and my kids are learning to play so they'd love to have a go on the big screen too! I was very impressed with the one in Vista's MCE so if you need any ideas to improve on that would be a great place to start...

Country: | Yes, as posted in other threads we REALLY need a games menu. I played arround a little with the engine (ruffian) and found it quite amazing how good this engine plays The bad thing is I need to program all the movements checks, because the engine will not check all illegal moves.  It would be easy to use any engine because they use all the same interface. So do not expect anything too soon. I uploaded a newer screenshot above. Greetz kroko

Country: | Hi there, I started to work on the project. Right now I will busy the next weeks. To short the time for you until I'm ready -> here is a preview of the plugin. It uses the zappa engine. It is NOT perfect, but almost playable. Right now it play on search deep 1. There are still missing function for the pawns and do not move other figures while checked. This would crash the engine. Anyway it is only a prview. But have fun anyway. I postet on top what I'm planning to include. If you have additional whishes let me know. Greetz kroko
