I supposed initially a problem in video codec but different setup don't solved. Then I sorted out that the problem is related to the fact that the file contains audio in AC3 format and when I select S/PDIF as output this cuase the probelm. Using ffdshow coodec the file play correctly when I select 16 or 24 or 32 bit output in ffdshow. When i select S/PDIF it cause the same problem. The same happens also if I use AC3 filter instead of ffdshow As I select S/PDIF output the video don't play in MP I need S/PDIF to connect the MB digital optical out to my sound system (Yamaha YSP1100) that support only digital input via optical cable. Do anyone have an idea about how to solve this problem? ![]() I forgot to mention that 1) audio MP3 -> No problem also selecting S/PDIF 2) audio AAC 5.1 -> No problem also selection S/PDIF Last edited by Maverikbj; 2008-02-04 at 13:00. Have you tried with Dscaler Audio Codec, and checking "AC3/DD using SPDIF" in the settings?
That is the only setting that works for me anyway. When using AC3Filter etc I was getting similar issues as you do. Regards

Tryed your solution with Dscaler but it 's not working for me.
The only way that I found is to use a diffrent render than the default one Using Cyberlink renderer instead of deafult renderer or realtek renderer make possible to select S/PDIF on all audio filter like AC3filter Dscaler or MPAudio or others. Therefore I'm wondering if this is correct and what is causing the rendering to cyberlink insted to the appropriate audio device, because this choice don't seems to me the correct one. |

OK, I'm using "DirectSound: SPDIF-OUT" as my renderer... and if I recall correctly it was the only setting that worked for me... And I have set my speakers in Sounds to "Digital-out" that way I get all of my sounds over my SPDIF coax.
Otherwise I can't help you anymore... Regards,

I have a Denon DHT-FS3 X-Space which is similar to your Yamaha with SPDIF from my MB.
I use HDMI from my GPU and run windows Vista. I had problems trying to get DD to work and found the best decoder was the Microsoft MPeg2 decoder that was the only one that would give me DD out on my Denon. I use Nvidia PureVideo as my video decoder and then FFdshow to up the quaility to 1080i for my 42" plasma. |

I have the same issue with the integrated realtek AZALIA in Windows XP. I can't play movies when I set the realtek as a default audio render (SPDIF out with AC3Filter). I use the following solution for resolving this issue: I remove the realtek driver in the device manager and then scan for hardware changes. The driver returns and I can play movies till the next reboot. After reboot I need to repeat the procedure. Media Player Classic always works fine.
Any ideas to fix it? Last edited by YuryKos; 2008-04-09 at 18:27. |
