I have problem with playing video in Mplayer.
It was a clean install - Win XP MCE2005, apply all updates, install NET 2.0 and updates, Install Cyberlink PowerDVD install MP 0200, install MP update 0204, install Cyberlink Power DVD oem shipped with my LG DVD writer (5.0),
and codecs:
VobSub 2.23 (for subtitle)
FFdshow-20060828-rev2546 (which, btw, does not shows up in Add / remove programs - why?)
QuickTime Alternative 1.76
Real Alternative 1.50

With those I can play all movies I have in Media Player 10, but in MPortal when I click on any movie, nothing happens (not even an error msg, nothing)

So I installed XVID 1.1 final too, but the same result - no play in MPortal

Interesting is that I cannot play movies (AVI) in Media Center application either.

But they all works OK in Media Player

Still, in Media Portal I can play streaming movie (mms

Please help, any suggestion will be appreciated

Hi Bogdan and the beloved MP developers,

I have recently got the same problem on one of my MP installations. If I go see the logs folder, I can see FileNotFoundException for each try to start playing a video.

I'm also working on a "clean" install, and with almost the same sw stack as you. And I'm also 100% sure that the video playing was working, but at some point it stopped working after I hadbeen installing some pieces of 3rd party sw and disabling some windows services. At the moment, I can't say which of these actions has caused the problem. Maybe some developer could find the cause based on this information (?).

BR,
Matti

I checked the errorlog and actually I found the following message

28.09.2006 20:44:50 VideoPlayer9:exception while creating DShow graph Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {51B4ABF3-748F-4E3B-A276-C828330E926A} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80040273. at MediaPortal.Player.VMR9Util.AddVMR9(IGraphBuilder graphBuilder)
at MediaPortal.Player.VideoPlayerVMR9.GetInterfaces()

Actually I attach all three log files I found, maybe developers can find more info in them

Hope anyone can help on this.

Regards.

OK, I have a different error then. Have you tried searching the forums with the error msg (e.g. "creating DShow graph")... There might be a work around available.
