channel change problem... desperate here :-(

Synopsis::

Hi guys...

Need some help.. i'm desperate here to get this working.

My problem is with the time it takes to change channels. It takes 8 secs to change channels with timeshift on. I can reduce this to 6 secs if i set ZAP DELAY to zero.

If i turn off timeshift, its down to a respectable 1 second.

I know my hardware is ok, because with MCE its almost instant.

Please help... i have exhausted all other avenues i could find and nothing has helped.

I think you will find that these times are fairly typical, and cannot be improved upon ....

hey Taipan... i find it hard to accept this as being typical.
I know its possible to have very low channel changing times, but why it is so hard in MP is beyond me...

When using software provided with TV card, there is no delay.

Is anyone out there lucky enough to have very low channel change times ?
if so, how fast ( or slow ) ?

i would have to say mine is under 6 seconds, not much tho , the thing with mine with timeshifting on is that it changes in maybe 3-4 seconds but then i get a slight audio stutter at about 6-7 second marker which lasts for a few seconds then its right, so for me i get it kind of working after 4 but properly after about 8 seconds.
With the fusion app i would say timeshifting its around 2-3 seconds and without timeshifting its within 1 second

Here is a tip i use when zap changes times seems growing:
Just delete the Card(x ) Directory from the Recording directory.
Also ensure to defragment the recordings hdd frequently.

Last , please test again with the very latest svn, and see how it goes, cause there were a few improvements with zapping time.

Edit : your log is meanfull , a quick look on it is enough to say you are closely concerned by the very latest fixes.
So one more time, upgrade to the last svn build
