| I was trying to get MKV files to play in MP and failed. Now when I try and play an xvid file (one that I encoded myself with xvid 1.1) the quality is poor and I get some kind of overlay showing the following info, i.e. 267 ST:267 IF:0 PVOP I've not really used Graphedit, but it seems to show the codec being used as the ffdshow mpeg4 video codec. Prior to a number of uninstalls it shows divx as the codec, with identical overlay and poor quality. Can anyone suggest how to get back to where I was? Windows rollback? I think the problem was the Matroska_Pack_Lite_v1.1.2.exe (grrr) and I also installed and removed the CCCP pack. I know, stay away from codec packs... Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Mark |

Country: | Hi markysoft As you have found, so did i. If anyone who does not know about codecs reads this post, please steer clear of codec packs (and unfortunately that includes ffdshow) if you want to play xvid/divx use the freely downloaded ones from the official sites. They cause less problems in the long run and keep you 8)
