Have you tried a re-install of PowerDVD 8?

When I installed PowerDVD8 Ultra I could select Cyberlink codecs for both Mpeg-2 and h264, so maybe a problem with the codecs being registered.

See comparison: #1 DVD Player Software - CyberLink PowerDVD – Playback Software for DVDs and Blu-ray Discs
If you did not buy the Deluxe or Ultra version, then it looks like H.264 is not supported.

But now i have a new problem! I can look HD TV approximately between 2-4 min. but after that the screen freeze but audio is still running. After that i must turn off my pc. No chance to stop or close MP. :-(

It seams to be a problem for the Ati Radeon HD 2600 Pro Agp (512 MB).
If i use the Nvidia Quadro4 980 XGL (128 MB) then i can look HDTV a long time but not realy smoothly. With the ATI Radeon it chrashed complete after a few minutes.

I think i have found the solution. I installed the ATI Omega driver and now it seams be work. :-)
I will test it and will give you a feedback.

Cut 'n paste from another post I just made:

You could try the AVIVO codecs.
