Default DVD Player not playing

MediaPortal Version: 2.0.0.4
Windows Version: XP sp2
CPU Type: AMD 3gig
HDD: seagate 80 gig
Memory: 512 meg
Motherboard: A bit

I seem to be having an issue with the DVD player in MP. When I insert a DVD into the drive and try to play it the DVD screen of MP just goes full screen and stays Black. I thought it might be something to do about regions as I am in Region4 and a Region1 dvd was insterted and ran fine. I installed DVD43 thinking this might help but I still get this problem (full black screen). It doesn't seem to matter which DVD code I use. I have tried MPV decoder filter and InterVideo Video. I know that these DVD play fine as WinDVD plays them.

Any ideas

Do any disks work? Try using a copied disk and see if that helps.
Some copy protected disks won't play unless you use a CSS capable codec.

Try using the power dvd codec if you have it.

You should post more information, like the DVD codecs you are using and any other settings that may be relevant. You can find this info in the MP config program in the DVD section...

try different codecs.

But there is also a known MP problem that some DVD's are not playin' properly and some others are havin' navigation problems.

thanks+regards
