Country: | I am assuming MediaPortal still does not support the FFDSHow Video codec for decoding. I get a black screen (audio is fine) when this video codec is used. Just want to confirm this before I update the wiki, just in case I have missed some config thing . I believe it can still be used for post processing though (eg. PDVD8 (homenetwork) codec and then FFDShow for post processing (crop, resize, etc))?My setup below. ![]() TV-Server Version: TVServer RC3 svn 20683 MediaPortal Version: MP1 RC3 svn 20683 MediaPortal Skin: B3 Wide Windows Version: WIN XP SP3 (Client)/Win 2003 Server (TVServer) CPU Type: AMD 64 +4800 (Client)/Intel DualCore 2150(Server) HDD: Memory: IGB DDR2 800(Client)/1GB DDR2 667 (Server) Motherboard: Asus M2A VM-HDMI(Client)/GigaByte GA-VM900M (Server) Video Card: Integrated ATI Radeon X1200 - Set for 512 MB Video Card Driver: Catalyst 8.10 Sound Card: ALC883 High Definition Audio 6-channel Sound Card AC3: Coax out Sound Card Driver: 1. Country: | AFAIK there have been no reports of FFDShow working 100% for mpeg2\ts files\streams, if there were, i'm pretty sure everyone would be using it ![]() Even just googled "ffdshow mpeg2" and besides using as postprocessing, not one comment for using it as main mpeg2 decoder.

| TsReader doesnt allow ffdshow to be connected to its video output pin. So its not supported for TVE3 live tv / recordings.

| Portal Member | I can use ffdshow in RC3 svn 20683. However, I had the problem that ffdshow (rev2054) didn't catch any changes in resolutions/aspect ratios for example when changing channels. It just kept using the information from the first tuned channel. So when that was ratio 4:3 then it stayed in 4:3 forever. I had to stretch to view 16:9 properly. I'm now using PowerDVD7 for tv mpeg2 codec. |
