Default FTP shares problem... again

Well, I finally got around to testing the ftp folders again and it still doesn't work for me. Actually, it's doing exactly what it's always done for me.
It logs in ok, tries to change directory and thinks it received an error from the server even though the server didn't send an error.

I have now tried 2 different FTP server programs and what I want to know is, what ftp server does this actually work with?
I'm currently using War FTP Daemon http://www.warftp.org/

I had never tried this feature but for me it does work with Serv-U Server version 6.1, I will try with FileZilla to see if it does work with a free server.

No encryption used (login or data)

Just an FYI, I'm running this over the internet, not just on a LAN.

FTP wasn't designed to stream video.
Since it works for others I'm going to go check the setup again.
BTW, does it require paths to use / or \ ?

Because FTP could never be used for streaming anywhere, on any client or server, on this planet.

This is not the work of FTP.

I cannot say "you should know that", but it seems like you see it as a problem (and maybe even sound a bit harsh?). Well, it is not.

TCP/IP is TCP/IP and beeing on a LAN or on the Internet if your router is well configured I can't see any difference

A timeout waiting for a response would could be smaller on a LAN and you'd never notice if it caused a problem in testing in that environment but with a longer delay over the internet the problem would rear it's ugly head.
But it seems to me it was tested over the internet from past discussion.

Well, I got it working. I didn't change anything that I'm aware of except I installed the latest build. I'm not sure that was what fixed it though.
Anyway, I'm just happy it works.
