HELP! No VMR9 options ... no TV video/audio !

Please someone help - I have downloaded yet another cvs but still can't find the Video Renderer option in settings, hence no VMR9 option - is this causing my lack of live TV? Channels are found perfectly during channel scan...

Synopsis: No TV video or audio, no Video Renderer option (to allow selection of VMR9 or Overlay etc), and "Change device.." option dialog continually loses focus, making it impossible to change settings (what ever they do!) - can only close the dialog box using the red cross.

VMR9 is enabled by default now, so you don't need to select this anymore.

I suggest that you stick with the MediaPortal supplied video decoders, at least until you get this working - Dscaler is a good one to use. You can select this when you run Configuration, under "Television".

This line in your log file could be a clue

It suggests that there is no signal available to view.....

It is possible that the channel frequencies that Autotune collected are incorrect - can you check, for example, that this is correct

Do you know what frequency BBC ONE is meant to be on? Is 554,167 correct?

Or, are you sure that you are still getting good TV RF signal to the TV card's aerial input?

I don't know what the ONID is (Network provider?), but the figures generally appear fine except that, using the Presto PVR software that comes with the card, the frequencies are all rounded, eg. 554000, not 554167. BBC ONE also has a TSID (Transmission Service?) of 4108.
I have read about frequency offsets; is this something I can change, or is MP scanning frequencies differently?

I suspect that MP has collected the wrong frequency - I have experienced the same problem....

I suggest that you change the frequency values for each channel (you could try just one, first) to the values that you got from the Presto PVR software.

The other alternative (which is what I have done) is to modify the dvbt.xml file so that it only scans the exact known frequencies - then you are certain to get all the correct data....

You genius!! That's cracked it! I edited the offset to zero, now I've got picture and audio! I just need to play around with frequencies now, since this reduced the channels it found drastically.

I am glad I could help - I will log this as a bug in Mantis, to see if we can get it fixed. It might be a tricky one to fix, as I suspect that it might be due in part to the BDA drivers, as it only seems to occur with a few DVB PCI cards/USB devices... :?

Did you have any luck playing with the frequencies? I too had the same issue with my MSI 580, changed the offset to 0 and now pickup some channels - but not the majority..

Any help you could provide would be much appreciated!

Best thing to do is to manually enter the frequencies for the TV channels you want in the dvbt.xml file - if you know what they should be, and there aren't too many of them.... :?

Alternately, if you are using 0.2RC3, apply the latest SVN - there have been some recent changes to the Autotune that has improved the scanning. Its not yet 100%, though.
