Hi People,

This is my first message here - first I want to say Thanks to anybody that involve in the development of MP ,You are Amazing and you doing such a great Job!
Can you please tell what is the safest way to donate to MP?

ok for my issues:

I have 2 machines , both of them quite strong based on Q6600 with 4 GB RAM ,
I'm not sure I need have any need of working in Server Mode with MediaPortal

1.I don't understand the advantages of the Server mode, can you please explain?

2.I have serious problem on both computers running 1080P movies.

Computer#1: MCE 2005 Q6600 @ 3.2GHZ Comp#2 Vista 64 bit @ 4 GHZ(!!)

I instal FFDSHOW TRYOUT
AC3
HALLI

And for some reason ALL movies that 1080P are "stuttering" .

I don't have any hardware problem but I guess something with the codec's setuo is not right...
when I working with CoreVac no problem , but I understand that CoreVac is for slow computers....and I want to use the FFDSHOW for Subtitle as well...

Would appreciate ur advice!

There are two main brakes in your system:
1. Vista
2. .net

Haali, make sure autoload VS is set to off\no, if no playback re-enable.

Personally always makes me laugh when someone says have got this working perfectly, but want to use something else

Well,as I wrote i HAD problem playing with CoreVac and same time play substitle in the MP.
After a bit of searching I found that it can be posible with VobSub run speratly....
And another reason is that in many forums I read that the FFDSHOW brings better results ...
You may think if something working so stick with it(and with great laugh...)BUT when you spending about 3-4K$ on computers You want the best results.
Hopefully you got my point....

Here is a pretty comprehensive list of the differences between the two installs
TV-Server/overview - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

If you want to watch or record HD broadcasts (this doesn't include HD footage on already on your PC), then you need the TVServer as the built in TV engine doesn't have any and will never have support for HD channels.
