Next, (propbably not MPA's fault but) despite having selected ffdshow as my audio codec in all areas (my videos, my dvd, my tv, etc) it seems that when I play an avi, the MPA filter is used. |

| Hi, Im on XP so im not sure about vista, but I suspect the dialog box you are seeing is when you right click on the filters when the video is playing.. I think XP has the same issue here. The way I do it is usually MP config... go to direct show filter control.. MPA Decoder. For your second problem, try installing Gspot and setting the filter merit lower for MPA: Gspot Open it and go to system->List codecs and other filters.. Find MPA (i usually sort by name its easier)... right click->set filter merit That way FFDshow will be used instead. Hope this helps ![]() Last edited by silencelost; 2007-12-27 at 19:34. |

| Thanks for the reply - I'm at work now, so can't try it, but I will when I get home.. But, surely the point of selecting your choice of codec in the settings area is to avoid having to do things like this? |
