I'll take a look at it during the week. It shouldn't be hard at all, considering the work has already done, just needs some glue and some shine.

Also, any chance of getting patch 1550777 "allow external tuner plugins to use multiple capture cards" put in? I'd like to support multiple external channel sources in my plugin.

Cheers,

Thumbs up

Aaron,

You are amazing!

This is exactly what I needed and it works perfectly. My HP MCE remote, through HIP, controls MP. I just had to change the bottons I use to control the amplifier in HIP to send the appropriate IR commands to the amplifier. Perfect.

Now I can play a little still with all the mapping possibilities in MP.

Thank you very much. I'm getting more enthusiastic about MP every day.

VdR

PS
I also use the scheduler in HIP to power up and power down the amplifier (i.e send an IR command) at power up, power down and standby. Can or will your plugin be able to do something like that?

I have the IR codes (for MCEIR) to control the Logitech z5500 amplifier. If you are interested to put these in your plug-in I'll send them to you.

Thanks for the kind words VdR.

Ooooh, interesting idea ...

I could have a list of events and people could map IR codes/Macros to those events ... Enter DVD = Turn on Surround, Exit DVD = Turn off Surround, etc ...

I will call it ... Event Mapper ... Unless someone has a better name?

Thanks for the idea, I'll get to work on it as soon as I've posted a new version of the plugin compiled against 0.2.1.0

Hold on to those codes for now. Including codes for STBs is one thing, but including codes for all sorts of equipment and the next thing you know the plugin will be a 10 meg download!

Thanks for the ideas, I'll get back to you soon.

I have been playing a little bit more with the message plug-in this morning and ran into some minor issues with the included HIP file. These may also effect the message functions in your 'real' plug-in, so for feedback:

The 'green', 'red' and 'teletext' functions are all linked to the 'green' IR code (remote button), with the to be expected results. Fixing the HIP file resolved all issues here.

The 'NumPad0' through 'NumPad9' functions are linked alternately to the '0' and '1' IR codes (remote buttons). Fixing this alone didn't help, the messages for the numeric buttons don't seem to be interpreted by MP. Changing the HIP file to send simple keyboard strokes solved the whole issue.

Hope this is meaningful and helpful.

Thanks again,

VdR

Doh. I'll make sure I fix that, thanks.

That's probably the SVN requirement rearing it's ugly head. You've gotten around it for now, and the new MP release is out, so in a day or so there will be a new version of my main plugin to solve all these issues.

Thanks for your feedback.

Forgot one thing. probably doesn' relate the plug-in, but for those trying to do something similar:

I had to delete the message post for the standby button. It hang the system. Without posting the message, windows deals with standby and resume from the remote without a problem.

Having said that MP has a little hick-up dealing with standby and resume. On resume it goes to home even if basic home was selected before standby and even if 'start-up in basic home' is selected in the configuration.

Remember I'm using the HP MCE remote, there may be some subtile differences with the MS MCE remote.
