MediaPlayer hangs

On a freshly installed system MediaPlayer hangs when I try to play a wmvhd clip, or any other type of videoclip.
This started happening after I installed the Detonator driver, before that it were able to play the clip but not very well since there's no gfx driver.
I haven't installed any codecs or anything else, only updates.

System:
P4-2,53, 1gig RAM
VIA P4X400A chipset
GF6200 AGP
XP pro sp2
Detonator 8.1.8.5

Try a newer nvidia driver perhaps, those 81.xx were always buggy for me. I think Im using 84.xx on my MP box atm.

Tried old and new versions of the nvidia driver... same result. But I installed an old GF4 Ti4200 and now it can play wmv files, not very well but they can be played. So I just don't understand anything :shock:
The GF6200 works great in another pc.
