I am using Powerstrip (now 3.7) to drive "television" via the VGA socket. This is Running at 768x576 (should be 720 x 576) for the PAL video Standard (NOT 480 NTSC). It is Interlaced and being used to watch MPEG II videos taken from Digital TV (it is to have acard for DTT/Freeview - but one step atr a time). The frame rate is 25hz interlaced. My problem is that Media portal is used to play (i am toying with MP and Win Mediacenter) and I have downloaded Purevideo (sorry do not knwo version but I installed Purevideo DVD decoder, then found PUreVideo MPEG decoder - which was the actual one I wanted). A friend has been doing similar. The motion in MP is "film like" ie the typical "de-interlaced" motion like you get from XBox and looks a bit soft and the motion is film like. On installing Nvideo, I thought that this would sort it as I have another friend (who lives great distance away) who does have it working. In addition, I have actually got it to work perfectly, showing nice smooth "video" motion, but no Nvidea logo in the Systray and by accident. Unfortunately, Powerstrip got corrupted by accident soon after while looking in to a sound issue and after reinstalling Powerstrip 3.7 and a friend installing a different Mediaportal on a CD he was running, I am back at Square 1 .And whatever I did (install PureVideo DVD, then Purevideo Mpeg) does nto seem to work anymore. My Questions are as follows: 1. How to I get MP to NOT deinterlace and therefore show the video "correctly" (see follow on). 2. Why did I get smooth clear interlaced video by accident. 3. Apparently, when showing MPEGII, the Nvidea should appear in the Systray - but does not. 4. There should be some setting in Nvidea to make it draw odd and even fields as separate frames - which apparently works perfectly. But I cannot find it. I have been in Mediaportal Settings. I have experimented quite a bit. My MPEG file is totally correct - it is a Digital TV stream dumped to disk and not recoded and when played ona DVD or by other methods does display perfect AND I did have it working. Finally, How to I KNOW that the Nvidea codec is being used by mediaportal and I beleive it can work with the ATI card (X600. Any help would eb great. I am in Scotland and live in the south east, so I am up to take it round if anyone is offering ![]() Cheers Eugene MArk Sully (big Brother) |
