Hi all
I've converted (externally) an MPG file to Xvid format using an application called Vidomi. Windows Explorer sees the file as a DivX file type and I can play the file fine within Windows Media Player, but when I try to "find" it within My Videos within MP it is not listed as a file I can open ... I thought MP supported Xvid/DivX format files? I am going to try renaming the filetype to WMV and see if MP sees it then but any other thoughts?

In the Setup application, under My Videos, you need to tell MP what files to look for. So either add the .divx extension or rename the file. And don't rename it to WMV, .avi would be better :-)

Cheers,
Steff

Use this version of FFDSHOW as also supports mp4, which needs to be added to mpsetup/videos/filetypes.

Divx/Xvid are natively supported and should not need to be added

...as I always wanted to post and kept forgeting.

Thanks mPod. It is time people knew that FFDShow project is alive AND kicking.
(maybe we could look at a future closer cooperation between the two teams?)

(and when some dev adds better menu handling, multiple calls to modules and plugins with different options and much better dbase handling, it will be love... ah and a nice 3D front end and inter-module messaging system and...)
