Maybe. It is no dx9 card.
But in media player classic, i can switch to vmr7 or 9 and it works.

So there is no way to make the unichrome work with vmr9?
Buy a cheap dx9 card?

You think a Geforce 5500 with 128MB is enough?
Or maybe a 5200 will do it too?

I don't want to buy bigger cards, because my htpc is only used for recording, movie watching, pictures, music, bla bla.

I'm using GF 5200 and I haven't had any problems with it. Notice that almost all 5200 cards are also fanless.
