Ok, first up I'm VERY new to all this having downloaded MediaPortal all of 2hours ago. Secondly, I have no idea what all that ^ is.

Finally, sorry if this has been posted before as no doubt it has....but how can I get my backed up DVD's playing without having to mount the .iso files outside of MP first? Basically so that they are recognized as just another file to play.

I did a quick search and couldn't find a specific answer (or the questions were not understandable on my end anyway)

So if anyone could help me that would be great. I have tried VMC, Elisa, Nero's thingy, some apple stuff and frankly this is by FAR the most promising (customizable AND works lol)

Anyway, some suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated (infact whats better - an iso or the AUDIO and VIDEO_TS files?)

Cheers.

- Matt

Use DEAMON TOOLS... - THE DAEMONS HOME

Install it (set it to autostart with Windows), disable Safe mode, enable Automount and choose a Drive letter (I have H:/)

In the MediaPortal Configuration got to General > DEAMON
Give the Path to the .exe, Select your drive (H:/) and enable Automount

Finally select your codec under DVD (I use FFDSHow with upscaling to FullHD) and it should work..

Ah cool. Ill try that. I'll let you know if it works just for interests sake.

Um...this might sound stupid, but I cannot for the life of me find DAEMON in mediaportal...defintely not under general anyway. I'll keep looking anyway...im running the latest version I could find as well if that helps.

Awesome - it worked.

Just one problem....once I was in the DVD watching it, I couldn't get back out to the menu to select another one. I couldn't seem to stop it or anything either. The only way I managed to get out was to ctrl-alt-dlt the thing.

I haven't searched for a solution yet, will do now though. Just thought I'd pop it in here as well in case its a simple fix or I'm just an idiot and didn't button mash enough before the 3-key fix.
