Default No menu after playing movie trailer

Hi,

A great program but I have the following to report...

Area: Media Portal Program
MediaPortal Version: 0.2.0.0 RC2 (2005-12-16)
MediaPortal Skin: Project X
Windows Version: Windows XP (SP2)
.NET CLR Version: 2.0.50727
DirectX Version: 4.09.00.0904 (9.0c)
Audio Codec: MPEG/AC3/DTS/LPCM Audio Decoder
Video Codec: Mpeg2Dec Filter
CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4 - 2.40GHz
Memory: 1 GB
Motherboard: FB50 (Shuttle Inc)
TV Card Model: ATI AIW VIVO Cards
TV Card Type: -
TV Card Driver: -
Video Card Model: All-in-wonder Radeon 7500 (64 MB)
Video Card Driver: -
Video Card Resolution: 1280x1024
Video Render Type: Overlay
Audio Card Model: Avance AC'97 Audio
Audio Card Driver: -
Synopsis::

After watching a movie trailer, the screen does not return to any menu. Clicking the mouse generates a sound and, I suspect, is navigating through the menus, but as the screen is blank, nothing can be seen. The only course of action is to terminate MediaPortal using Alt-F4.

Regards, Ian.

Hi,

Try a newer CVS snapshot (at least from after Mon Jan 9 10:25:20 2006 UTC). A patch has been applied to CVS recently to fix this bug. Please report back if that fixes your problem (or not).

Kind regards,
Michel

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm guessing that taking a later snapshot will require me to build from source. I'm afraid I don't have time (and possibly the resources) for that at the moment, so I'll wait until there is another complete build released.

Thanks again.

Regards, Ian.

If you look on the front page... there are daily CVS downloads. Click on the link on the right side and download the latest CVS.

Hi ASiDie,

Thanks. Got a bit worried for a while when everything went German <G>. Finally found the download section and I've now downloaded last night's version. I'll try it out when I get home.

Regards, Ian.

Please be aware though that current CVS snapshots can be unstable or contain other bugs. So, please backup your current install (by copying the complete MediaPortal directory to somewhere else) before you apply a CVS snapshot. Also read the english instructions on that CVS-Download page carefully before applying.

If you arent' satisfied with how that CVS snapshot is working, you can always copy back your previously made backup.

Kind regards,
Michel

I have the same problem. I tried builds from Jan 28 2006 and Jan 10. Once I stop the video the screen remains black. I can hear the sounds of moving back through the menu but I see nothing. Thanks
