No Surround sound when watchin TV

How is it posible when I watch movies or listen music I've full surround sound. But when I watch TV I only have stereo sound.

My config is

MB Asus P4P800-vm-eayz

800FSB/4GB Dual Channel DDR400
-Powerful Intel Extreme Graphics 2
- AGP8X Technology
- Serial ATA
- S/PDIF-out Interface
- 6 Channel Audio
- 10/100 Mbps LAN Supports
- Max. 8 USB2.0 ports support

Videokaart Nvidia GeForce FX 5200
Capture kaart Firedtv-c

1024mb internal memory

The outputs from the motherboard are conected to a dolby amplifier.

Ã think that I gonna by the z5500 voor logitec but only I surrond sound is possible in TV mode

I'm experiencing similar issues as my live TV is only stereo (live & timeshifting) however my recorded TV and any DVDs are in surround.

Havn't had a chance to investigate any further and GraphEdit crashes when I try to view the live TV graph.

I report back if I get a chance to investigate further.

Oke already found out what the problem was
Seems that the music codec settings have to be set to AC3 after I've changed these settings everything seemed to work.

Now something else is it posible to control the rear,front, center and LFE in mediaportal because now I've the close down media portal to do it
