TV - HTPC Connection: Via PC IN Socket

First let me briefly descrive my setup.

I use my laptop as my HTPC, which is kept near the TV in the house. It is connected to the tv via the PC IN socket. The laptop is connected wirelessly to my main PC upstairs. On this PC I keep all my files, tv shows, movies, music, pictures... you get the idea.

Now this setup works perfectly and I am extremely happy with Media Portal and it's been working like this for a few months now with no problems.

The small problem I am experiencing now is that I have a few movie files that when played on the laptop via media portal they are badly out of sync (audio/video), but if I play these files on the main PC where they are stored they are perfect with no problems. The sync problem only occurs with Media Portal on the laptop downstairs. It is not all files, probably only 5% of the files but I can't figure out why. If it was because of the wireless connection or a codec thing surely all the files would be out of sync but this is not the case. Any ideas???

Check your default audio renderer. It's in plugins/settings/video/audio renderer. It *must* be set to default direct sound device or you will get sync issues if there are any errors in the video. I guess these may be due to the wireless connection.

Thank you, for some reason mine was set to Direct Wave Device (or something like that), changing it completely fixed the problem on all videos I was having issues with.

Once again, thanks.
