| MP Donator ![]() | You can't configure avi files from MP Configuration. Those files will always be rendered using the filter's merits. You should have the same result if drag+dropping the avi onto GraphEdit i.e. ffdshow being automatically used. You have two options, either lower ffdshow's merit at ffdshow Video decoder configuration/DirectShow Control/Merit or use a program such as RadLight Filter Manager to manually give your wanted decoder the highest merit. |

Country: | PowerDVD player will play most filetypes, but the codecs only have mpeg2\h.264 playing ability, so they will never play a avi file. You either need Divx\Xvid or FFDshow for these filetypes. Just to confirm, if playing a mp4\avi file, PowerDVD8 player uses Divx codec. You can check this out yourself using graphedit.

Country: | is there anyway to make mediaportal select the directshow filter selected in configuration instead of basing it on merit? maybe if i lowered the merit in all the filters? what i'm trying to do is run two different copies with mediaportal with two different mediaportal.xml configuration files. one i want it to use ffdshow audio decoder always, whereas the other one i want it to run MPA decoder or anything else. anyone got any ideas? thanks |
