I have so far been unable to get hardware acceleration working within MP, despite trying various combinations of Catalyst (8.4 and 8.10) and PowerDVD (7.3 and 8 ultra). I have got acceleration working in PowerDVD 7.3 standalone player for 1080p and 1080i h.264 files but not VC-1 files (PDVD8 would not accelelerate 1080p h.264, only 1080i). MPC-HC accelerates for 1080p h.264 and VC-1 files but will not play some 1080i files correctly (recorded from TV) like live music or sport (this is however a known issue not specific to my setup).

After uninstalling PDVD, I noticed a Cyberlink filter still exists, cldump.ax in the MediaPortal Program folder- can anyone explain what this does? Could this be interfering with hardware acceleration for Cyberlink decoders?

On two threads in the German forum I found two discussions of registry settings for Cyberlink that I have not seen on any English forums- could someone take a look at the discussions here and here and explain what is being suggested - i.e. should a registry setting be changed to get hardware acceleration working in MP? I think HVA in the registry settings may refer to Hardware Video Acceleration?

ATI HD Registry Tweaks

Take a look at above, cannot confirm if they work as Nvidia user, but does sound consistant with what i have read on the internet.
