The Picture turns into black while recording LiveTV and an empty movie file is created. (the recording actually didn't work). everything is back to normal when stopping the record.

Hi,

1) There is no more development for software based cards
2) Picture going black when recording is normal behaviour on software based cards. Because MP does not support timeshift on those cards
3) What have you set as Encoder?

1. ok, too bad for me.
2. even without timeshifting, it is reasonable feature to watch tv while recording it every simple tv program can do that.
3. i'm using PICVideo MJPEG avi encoder. (provided from ShowShifter)
but i've also tried with other encoders and it didn't work either.

I got a S/W card too, the only way for me to record was to install the ffdshow. in ffdshow setup i choosed xvid and in MP setup ffdshow. works nice, ononly trouble, sometimes while recording is the sound very distorded for 1-2 minutes.
