Same issue here, but I think it's already known, Best is the default codecs working for me, nvidia show the menu but not the navigate cursors on the menu... sometimes with the mpeg2dec codec the menuscreen is black but if you press enter the movie will start playing...

I get the same thing too.

The strange thing is that some DVD menus work and some don't.
It's always the same menus and the WAF plummets as I have to kill MP and then start WMP...

Confirmed, this is an old issue.
Sometimes, you get a black screen instead of the menu.
Sometimes, you get the menu but not the navigation cursor.

All this with all releases of MP I have tried (0.1.2, 0.1.3, 0.2RC1)...
My settings : VMR9, standard Mpeg2 filter codec, standard DVD navigator.

This is not a DVD issue as other programs like WinDVD or Media Player Classic work perfect.

IMHO, the DVD module of MP would need a serious overhaul...

I can't even run it! When I try to play a DVD, MP says that there is no DVD in the drive. But there is...

I use E: for DVD. They can't have hardcoded D:, can they?

Make sure you are using the built in windows navigator as there is a problem with some other navigators. But no the DVD drive is no hardcoded, it works off the drive type.

I had the same problem at a time.
This is due to incompatibility between codecs and navigator.
What codecs do you use ?

I think I used NVidias video decoder and DVD navigator. AC3 audio decoder.

I have not tried DVD playing anymore, I like my stand alone DVD player, and use MP mostly for TV and recording.
